Bretonnian Lord - House Houghton
I have after a year of models being in a box under my hobby table, started my Bretonnian army. I am now glad I waited, they have petrified me and now I feel I am good enough to make a decent job of painting them.
I have started with my Bretonnian Lord with a Lance. The colour scheme is Blue and White for this House (my own house)
I started with the horse, Brown...
I then painted the barding and leather parts before going onto the actual materials.
White is notoriously hard to paint.. my technique is to use multiple thin coats of Ultharian Grey, each time mixing in more and more Ceramic White. Although it takes time, it gives you a better finish.
I then painted on the details, straps, bows and shields.
I tried a bit of freehand on, just some squiggly lines basically using a fine detail brush.
Next up was the rider, I based the whole model using leadbelcher, then picked out some gold trims, added the house colours and washed it using Nuln Oil.
I still need to tidy it up and add some edge highlights, but all in all happy with the outcome.
I have gone with a simple basing style on this army, literally just Blackfire Earth, drybrushed with Tryant Skull and Washed with Agrax. Then some meadow Flowers added.
Thats it for now, as I said, I still need to add in some fine touch ups and highlights.
