'How I Paint' Series: Wood Elves, Sisters of Thorn & Glade Riders

Painting Wood Elves: Sisters of Thorn & Glade Riders

These are some good models! I have never painted anything like this before so have been researching like crazy to try and get a feel for them. They will be eventually added onto oval bases for my AoS Wood Elves army.

I base coated the stags in Zandri Dust and then added Ushabti Bone to layer the skin to give a two tone effect.

I used a 50/50 mix of Sotek Green and Lahmian Medium to give the bottom legs and nose a wash and then painted the fur in sotek green as well.

I painted up the stirrups using retributor gold and dryad bark and base coated the antlers with dryad bark, then added some sotek to the symbol on the antlers.

Finally i painted the hoofs with XV88.

No shade has been added at this point as these are going to be dipped at a later stage.

Ok, so at this point i forgot to take step by step photos as got excited by quick progress on remainder. Had a whole weekend to finish them, glade riders and also some scenery! So here are the remainder of pics.
