'How I Paint' Series: Seraphon, Skink Starseer

The story behind my Seraphon army is one of a lost race evolved separately from their celestial cousins in the absence of a Slaan. The y are aware of the Slaan's existence through artefacts, lost temples and ruins but have been disconnected and therefore evolved to be more primeval. In the absence of the Slaan, the Skinks have taken on the roles of Priests and Shaman and the highest rank of these are the Skink Starseers, who are able to peer into the future and celestial realms to glimpse the plans of the Seraphon leaders.

This guy was actually really quick to paint and very enjoyable, I painted in whilst painting Mannfred as the washes on Mannfred take an age.

I primed the Palanquin with Chaos black then Mechanicus Standar Grey.

I washed it with Agrax Earthshade and drybrushed it with Dawnstone and Terminatus Stone.

I painted in all the gold trims and washed them with Reikland Fleshshade

And painted in the details with Evil Sunz Scarlet and Altdorf Blue, I washed the leaves with Green, Yellow and Red, but wasn't happy with how they turned out.

I redone the leaves with Moot Green glaze and drybrushed with Orygn Green.

I then started the base.

The Skink was painted in the same way the rest of the Skinks were done, and his glowing orb was Chaos Black, drybrushed with Praxi White, then washed with Druchii Violet, Glazed with Naggoroth Purple and finally an 'ardcoat finish.

Once the base dried, I done the usual dry brushing of Tyrant Skull and Etherium Blue, added some meadow flowers and called him done!
