Warhammer Community! Miniature Showcase Special

So I am super excited today and have completed one of my Hobby goals! I have my army featured on the Warhammer Community Website!

Steve Foote approached us 'Only The Faithful' NEO's a while ago to ask if we would like to partake in something upcoming for Warhammer TV. A narrative take over day. A whole day dedicated to running our own short narrative whilst playing some games on TV. We all of course said... YES! Whilst we was up a few weekends ago at Warhammer headquarters (more info coming on this soon), we took our minis up to have them photographed by the WH photo team, our minis were taken off into the aether, somewhere we were definitely not allowed to follow. If only the miniatures could tell us what they saw in that room!

Battle Report & Review: SCGT Battleplan, Realmgate Wars

'With the sound of Skaven screams still ringing in their ears, they fell back and headed towards the Gnawing Sea and the Maw gate which should have led them to Azyr. Instead as they emerged from the portal, the heat hit them like a brick, in front of them was a war torn ruined city, gradually being reclaimed by the surrounding deserts, they knew they were in Shyish, but did not know where. The Realmgate they emerged from was one of 4, positioned in a diamond, as the last of the War Council came through, the gate plasma turned from a Blue hue to a Green one to match the other 4.

Across the battlefield and emerging from the far Realmgate stood a Feast of Ogors, huge beasts of the Gutbusters, armed with huge cannons and weapons. The objective here was clear, claim the Realmgates and begin the process of altering their pathways. The Acolyte manning the Luminark had a plan.. it was a suicidal one, but one that may just work. He received blessings from Bretorri the Life Wizard and the Shadow Wizard too, with the Mystic Auras surrounding the machine, he flew back into the Realmgate and emerged instantaneously across the battlefield in front of the approaching Ironguts and General Tyrant. The Acolyte charged the weapon and fired direct into the Boss, he was thrown back off the sand dune and before he could recover to his feet, the Luminark charged forward into him, the Acoylte took a swing and connected again knocking him down, a horse rose up and slammed down hard onto the Tyrants head, splitting his skull and ending his rein.

Shocked at the sudden demise of their leader, the Ogors rushed the Luminark, the Acolyte with his last breath uttered 'For Sigmar!'.'

This week I played Mark and his Gutbusters, Mark has a great win ratio in the club and not many have beaten this Ogor list, it was great game and came right down to the wire. I picked an agenda in secret which happened to be, Kill the General. In this scenario, it was very much like Border Wars from the Generals Handbook, but with the twist of the objectives being Realmgates which you could Hop between. You scored 1 point for controlling your own Realmgate, 2 for each on the Borders and 4 for your opponents.

'How I Brayherd' Series: The Story and History of Mojgorox, Beastlord

Mojgorox 'The Risen' - Beastlord of the Render-Bray

"We rend! We destroy in the name of our father's! We care not of your thoughts and gains but only of your blood! We are hungry aren't we? This land is ours, given to us by father to breed, excrete and devour. We, your child farm these lands, like Father Nurgle's Virus, Like Father Khorne's carving knife, like Father Tzeentch's knowledge and Father Slaanesh's consumption.

Narrative Gaming in The Age of Sigmar

A topic close to my heart, Narrative gaming has of course always been there, through previous editions it has been lost in the aether but has made a huge come back in Age of Sigmar. Games Workshop have really given us an infinite possibility of playing narrative games, campaigns and events and although the priority lately has been on Matched Play, I can really see the more open side of the game making a return.

Battle Report & Review: SCGT Battleplan, Domination

This week I played Kye. We worked out since Generals Handbook has dropped and the club has expanded, we haven't actually played a competitive game of AoS. When we play, we always play a narrative or open battle using GW Campaign book battle plans.... This week was no different! :) We had a great tactical game but the stories soon started to flow.

'As the last of the plague was rid from Mitzmanheim in Uglu, the relics were secured and harnessed by the Mages. The residents of this ruin begun to emerge from the buildings to look upon the brave warriors who had saved their homelands from the disease Nurgle had been spreading for the past century. The Mages stayed for a while, using the time to heal their wounds and also attend to the Runefather Griminir who had been badly injured by the battle. More Fyreslayers heeded the call of the Horns of Grimnir and before long the army was back up to full capacity.

They headed west towards the Gate of Huninfir, a passage into the Realm of Ghur and their next task. Sigmar had sent word to them to tackle a rising clan of Skaven in Carcassonne, this was not the end mission for the Council but a call direct from Sigmar could not be ignored, the War Council would fulfil their duty to the God King.'

'How I Base' Series: Custom Wound Dials

Hi Guys, A short one today but wanted to show you something cool! I have been a dice man when it comes to allocating wounds to my models in Age of Sigmar, but with the growing number of multi wound models and Heroes I wanted to do something else. I found a site called Counter Attack Bases, which actually do so much cool stuff for war games. Check it out for Terrain, Dice, Markers etc when you get chance.

The bases come in 3 parts, bottom actual dial and the top. The top is completely flat and crying out for being based. Here is 'How I Base' them.

Miniature Showcase: Graham Shirley, Zombie Dragons! Part 1 of 2

Welcome to another Friday which can only mean one thing, Miniature Showcase! Today I have one of the best UK painters I know, Graham Shirley, or as most will know him on Social Media, Painted by G. I have been admiring his work for a while now and I am so happy to have him featured on this blog.

Because of the nature of this project, I have decided to split the blog post into two separate articles, the first will cover the bases he has done for the models, the second the miniatures themselves. You will soon see that the bases deserve their own feature anyway and could easily be awesome terrain on a gaming board, the fact he has incorporated them into the base for models is awesome and insane.

I got the chance to ask a few questions as well. Here is the Showcase!

Battle Report & Review: SCGT Battleplan, Capture and Control

Good Morning! So last Tuesday I played the third battleplan from the SCGT game pack, Capture and Control, I played against Paul Flory and his Nurgle.

My story continues on, The Karl who defied all odds and captured the Silver Tower at the last saved his Council he had sworn to protect. For the gratitude of the Mages, he received an extra portion of Ur-Gold and is now in charge of leading a larger group of Vulkite. The battle was heavy on the War Council, but managing to secure the Silver Tower, it disappeared from Chamon and remerged on the edge of an abandoned town, soaked in shadow and mist, it could only mean they had travelled into Uglu, the Realm of Shadows. Artur turned to Grominir, the Runefather, neither said anything, but they knew and had heard of the rumours of this place. They found themselves in Mitzmanheim, long had it had its glory days and now lay in ruin.

"My Lord! Up ahead! We are not alone here..", Grominir looked up and saw the ground moving, a sea of plague bundled towards them. The Runefather ordered the Fyreslayers to surround and protect! In the centre of the town lay two relics, glowing with power, subconsciously they knew these needed to be protected. The Relics held the power to get back to Azyr..
